Here we go again…..

After 20 some years fighting the war on terror our troops once again stare into the abyss of a Cold War turned Hot. I am having a difficult time writing this blog, I have typed and erased several times just trying to put to words how I am feeling right now. I understand the dangers of a Russian invasion into Ukraine. I can empathize with the people of that nation and all the nations that come under the microscope of Putin and his puppets. What I can’t understand is the potential loss of our sons and daughters if this thing moves forward. Heck, I had a very hard time justifying what we were doing in Iraq and Afghanistan and I was in that war!! I know this for sure, the rumor of this war is getting under my skin. It is making it crawl a bit. This could be one of those types of wars that our forefathers fought, a world war if you will. If things get too bad Uncle Sam can still bring me back and many of my other brothers and sisters who proudly served and made it out alive. I won’t shrink from the challenge and won’t hide from it, but how about we just don’t do it! How about Russia, backs off! How about we all go to our corners for a time out! How about we let love prevail today. Love of life, Love of ourselves, Love of humanity, Love of breath, Love of heartbeats, Love of the land, Love of families, Love of babies, Love of old folks, Love of Love. If we move forward into yet another war, those are the things that are lost in the end.

So to President Biden, and Mr. Putin I just want to say that we the people of the world don’t need or want another war. Let your Soldiers, Airman, Sailors and Marines rest. Let us ride off into the sunset of life nursing our wounds both seen and unseen. Let us live and let live.
